The SECUMAR 40 SF was developed in close co-operation with German and Dutch professional fire brigades.

Lack of buoyancy:
A conventional buoyancy compensator cannot keep a fully equipped firefighter (firefighting clothing, boots, helmet, heavy breathing protection), who can generate up to 120 N of downforce in the water, on the water surface.
PPE compatibility:
Conventional lifejackets are not compatible with other personal protective equipment (PPE). The inflated lifejacket can push the helmet and full face mask into the face.
This led to the development of this special lifejacket for use by firefighters.

Dimensioning of the buoyancy chamber
A minimum buoyancy volume of 30 liters was determined in order to turn the wearer into the unconscious supine position in all cases. The buoyancy chamber is generously dimensioned with a volume of 36 liters to allow for any different items of equipment (downforce). The buoyancy chamber is designed in the neck area so that when inflated there is sufficient space for helmet, neck leather and mask.

Protective cover
The heat resistance of the special rescue vest for firefighters has been verified by tests in accordance with EN 136:1998 Chapter 8.6 and EN 469:2014 Chapter 6.4.

Comfort and freedom of movement
Despite the generous size of the buoyancy compensator, the lifejacket is comfortable to wear and does not restrict the wearer's movements. Suitable for adults from 40 kg body weight and 1.50 m height.
Putting on and taking off
The cover is fastened to the body using the waist and back straps. The 50 mm wide waist belt is fastened with a heavy chrome steel fitting and tightened with a slider. The back and crotch straps are passed underneath or to the left and right of the breathing apparatus. The crotch straps are configured so that there are no obstructions when crawling.
Underlying standards:
DIN EN ISO 12402-2 (275N performance class)
DIN EN ISO 12402-6 (lifejackets and buoyancy aids for special purposes)
The heat resistance of the new 40 SF has been verified by tests based on EN 136:1998 chapter 8.6 and EN 469:2014 chapter 6.4.

The lifejacket with extra high load capacity of 360 N. For tough firefighting operations with heavy breathing apparatus and firefighting helmet. Even when the waistcoat is inflated, the helmet does not slip into the face. The SECUMATIC 3001S automatic release works even under extreme conditions, e.g. if the waistcoat has been in contact with red-hot pipe at 600 °C for a long time.
