The gear never looked flashy, because it never needed anything that didn't make it better. That's exactly where these new shoulder pads pick up.
Technically, this shoulder pad is a CCM Tacks XR Pro: the same platform played at pro level today, here wearing the lines of the old JOFA days. At its core sits the Max Coverage ASD build – sternum, collarbone, spine and AC joint are covered end to end without locking up the shoulders. Floating hybrid caps take the hit and pass it into compression-moulded HD foams, with D3O placed where slashes and body checks actually land. The Smart Foam stays soft at rest and only stiffens on impact: the protection is there when you need it, and out of the way when you're playing.
Mobility comes from the decoupled back panel and the Amplified Mobility Design: the upper body works freely and the shot loses nothing off the blade. Air channels front and back plus the closed-cell Zotefoam liner keep the heat moving instead of sitting in the padding. Length-adjustable ADPTFIT straps, a height-adjustable chest pad and the close-fitting back pad let you dial in the fit for the individual player – from the stocky defenceman to the long-limbed centre.
