Tacks has always been built for the players who look for contact: defencemen, bodycheckers, shot blockers. Anyone who parks in front of the net and steps into the shooting lane needs maximum coverage – but without losing mobility. That is exactly where the new XR generation comes in: more protection in the critical zones, less bulk, and noticeably more freedom of movement than before.

At the heart of it sits D3O Zero smart foam. At rest it stays soft and adaptive; on impact the molecules lock together instantly and spread the energy across the surface instead of passing it into the body. CCM places it exactly where it counts: AC joint, shoulder caps, spine guard, elbow cap, forearm shield and knee.

Shoulder pads – Amplified Mobility Design

• Amplified Mobility Design: heavily segmented front and back panels with floating components – the protection moves with you instead of blocking you
• D3O Zero in the AC joint, shoulder caps and spine guard, backed by exposed HD and Zotefoam for lightweight additional coverage across the torso
• FlexMotion shoulder caps for free movement when stickhandling and shooting
• AER-TEC ventilation ports and an AER-TEC suspension system in the bicep guards for noticeably better airflow
• Length-adjustable torso strap plus removable, adjustable belly and lower-back pads for a clean transition to the pants
• Length-adjustable bicep guards close the gap to the elbow pads
• Weight: 901 g (XR Pro, senior M) – closed-cell foams absorb very little sweat and stay light into the third period

Elbow pads – ASD with maximum coverage

• Anatomical Shield Design (ASD) in a two-piece construction: maximum coverage with full mobility
• JDP elbow cap channels impact energy away from the joint and into the surrounding foams
• Injection-moulded forearm guard with D3O Zero and a length-adjustable slash guard – protection right where the stick lands
• ADPTFIT strapping with a large Velcro landing pad for precise adjustment; comfortable EVA liner

Shin guards – the new FZN Shield construction

• FZN Shield: an injection-moulded shin cap fused to an internal plastic sling – considerably more coverage on both sides of the leg
• Injection-moulded calf guard that self-conforms around the lower leg and stays securely in place
• D3O Zero in the knee donut and key impact zones for controlled energy absorption on blocked shots
• AdaptFit liner for an individual fit regardless of calf circumference
• Weight: 675 g (XR Pro, 14") – lighter than the previous generation despite high-profile coverage
